Where Does the Time Go?
Yesterday was my 3-year blogiversary. It's not only 3 years of blogging at Mindsay, but 3 years of blogging anywhere. I had never blogged before when I created this Mindsay account on January 7, 2004 and wrote the first entry. I personally love the "Lets see if I stick with it" sentence. That sentence is only there because I knew I was going to stop blogging within a week. It was my "out". So, I was a little wrong. Not the first time, but probably the last time. Do you see the irony in the second half of that last sentence?
I'm not going to do a large replay of my last year of blogging like I've done in past years, saving posts like that for the larger blogiversaries now (5 year? 10 year?). I just have a few small things to say.
My blogging habits have changed a lot in the last year. I don't frequent Mindsay during the day as much as I used to. I practically don't visit at night or on the weekends at all, except during WTF. Despite my more limited exposure to Mindsay, I feel much closer to the community than ever before. In the past year I've discovered new bloggers that I love to read and have become closer to some I had previously seen only in passing. I've also had the pleasure of forming another great offline friendship with someone that I met on Mindsay and probaby wouldn't have met otherwise.
To sum it all up, Mindsay has helped to change me for the better in many ways, and the past year was no exception to that. I hope Year 4 manages to do the same.
