Stupid Home
I had great plans for tonight. The plan was to have no plans. I was going to get home and just crash in front of the TV. I was thinking of watching last night's Alias, maybe the movie Lost in Translation, and then getting lost in the world of Final Fantasy XI. And then to just get away from the TV for a little bit, how about some time with a Harry Potter book? Oooh... such a great time.
Nope... not any more.
Being a homeowner like I am, I checked the weekly Menards ad this morning. Menards is like a more local version of Home Depot, for those of you that don't know. So I'm flipping through the ad when I see that the edging I want is on sale. Ooooh, and the mulch I want is on sale, too. This is great! I thought I had missed the sale last week, but its all on sale again! And not only that, but the better edging is on sale! Yes! I can spare a stop at Menards on the way home. What is that going to take? 30 minutes? That's not a significant detour from my night of no real plans.
But now comes the real question... when can I install this stuff? I want to do it within a week so that if I need more stuff, I can go back and get it while its still on sale. So I go online and look at the projected weather forecast for the week. My lack of faith in weathermen is a topic for another whole blog entry, but at least this gives me an idea of what I can expect for the week. Let's see. Tonight is sunny and in the 60s. Good night, but I have my night of no plans, so tonight is out. Tomorrow is rain. Yuck... no good. Wednesday night is supposed to be good! Darn. I have a vendor dinner for work. Thursday night is good, too! Crap! I have kickball on Thursday night. Well, at least we'll have good weather for the game. Friday night I have potential plans with a certain Mindsayer, so Friday's out, no matter what the weather is. Saturday is supposed to rain again, but I have potential plans anyway with nomad and chilly to see Van Helsing. Sunday the sale is done.
Looks like my beautiful night of no plans is gone and I'm doing yard work tonight. Pbbbt!
