History is shaped by our hands.

When I was visiting my parents in Florida earlier this week, I slept extremely well. It was odd. Usually I'm not the best sleeper in a bed I'm not comfortable with. It was a brand new bed, so I obviously wasn't comfortable with it. However, I did notice how great the pillows on this bed were.
So, fast-forward a few days and I'm back home in Wisconsin. I'm actually all excited about sleeping in my own bed again. So, I climb into bed... ahhh, comforting familiarity. I pull the covers over me... ahhh, expected warmth. And I lay down on the pillows... ahhh... wait a minute. These pillows SUCK! I don't care how familiar they were, they sucked. I couldn't sleep on these. They were flatter than... well, they were flat! I got up the next morning, checked the papers, and found that Kohl's had 50% off the entire stock of pillows.
Now I have 2 new pillows on my bed. They are as soft as Fluffy Puff Marshmallows. Last night was the best night of sleep I've had in my own bed in years.
I did the math and my old pillows were 9 years old. It was time for them to be retired to "decorative pillows".
