History is shaped by our hands.

On Saturday morning I'm flipping through the online edition of the Milwaukee Journal/Sentinal. Even though I live 45 minutes away in Hartford, I work in Milwaukee and try to keep up on the news of the big city, as it does pertain to me on some levels. As I'm browsing, I stumble across this article about my town. I start reading it and before long I think, "This can't be for real!".
I then started reading parts of the article out loud to nomad, who was at my house visiting for the weekend. She didn't believe it was real, either. It feels like something straight off of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.
I think that the reporter set out to write this article with only the best intentions. However, he had to of at some point read the article and thought, "Oh, my...". It wouldn't have taken much editing to get this back to a normal, non Daily Show piece. Taking out some of his quotations from the public and he would have been back on the path of serious journalism.
