History is shaped by our hands.

What an odd night.
My parents met my gf's parents last night. We all went out to dinner. As my parents and I were leaving my house, my dad said, "I'm uncomfortable and I don't want to do this."
I can understand his feelings. Usually parents don't meet until much further along in a relationship... like, engagement. We've only been dating 2 months. He felt it was too soon. He wasn't the only one, but my gf's mother was insistent that she met my parents before they headed back to Florida (where they live).
Thankfully, my gf's mother kind of apologized for any awkwardness. She said she has trouble remembering at times that her daughter and myself are in our 20s. It then came out that my gf mentioned earlier today that the dinner might be weird. Once that was all out in the open, people seemed to relax a bit more. A little awkward moment came up again when the bill came, but all was straightened out.
But the oddest part of the night had nothing to do with our parents getting together. Because it was our 2 month anniversary, we got each other little gifts and cards. So, we exchange gifts and I open the card... and its the EXACT same card I got her. I got it at a different store in a different city, but it was the same card. We both mentioned we had found the perfect card for our relationship. Heh... unreal.
